If you’re as big a fan of chicken wings as we are then this article is perfect for you! However, if you’re only just now dipping your interests into the amazing world of crispy, fried produce, then this is also a great place to start.

Join us for a quick virtual tour of the best chicken wing takeaways in London, ideal for a student budget. We’re going to look at the best restaurants around and address the controversial question; how should one eat a chicken wing.

London’s rich chicken wing history makes it the perfect place to go to fulfil your chicken wing desires. In 1986, right in the heart of North Finchley, KFC opened their first shop. Since then onwards London has seen a boom of chicken shops, giving rise to The Chicken Mile in East London. This is a mile of takeaway places, feeding school children by day and club kids by night.

Before Lockdown chicken shops were experiencing some of the highest net growth in 2019. However now in the wake of COVID-19 like any business on the high street they are struggling. The social space they cultivate is disappearing and shop rents are through the roof. It is sad to say that the chicken shops we love so dearly might be threatened by the economic turbulence we have been through. Therefore, all the amazing flavours and tasteful sensations aside, now it is more important than ever to support your local independent restaurants and come to the aid of these amazing places.
